I am a goal-oriented and motivated person. This year has NOT been what I expected, but I have worked to try to make the best of it. As I am on my journey of being an entrepreneur I wanted to share a monthly reflection on my goals for the coming month.
What worked in August?
- Doing a reflection at the end of each work day to focus my mind and see what did I work on to move me forward.
- Offering trainings and networking events. I served the GIS Community and grew my LinkedIn Connections.
- Meal planning by putting awful looking sticky notes on the wall so we all know what is for dinner.
- Really working on my morning + evening routines. This helps so so so much.
- Putting some analysis in front of possible new clients to showcase what we can do.
What didn’t work so well
- Being unclear about my next steps on big projects.
- Did not bring in new clients this month.
Looking to September: These are the goals and steps that I am working towards using my Cultivate What Matters Powersheets to build what matters to me. My encouraging words are “the next right thing.” And yes, I am planning to listen to the track from Frozen this month.
Big Monthly Goals:
- Have a well-executed socially-distanced family get-together.
- Schedule my next professional development event
- Celebrate my 3 year wedding anniversary.
- Celebrate a milestone birthday for a dear dear friend.
- Schedule a backlog of doctors appointments that got canceled #COVID
Weekly Items:
- Virtual Coffee with someone I don’t know in the GIS Industry
- Portfolio Challenge
- Work on the Chicago.Atlas
- Get my email under control
- Log my weekly biz metrics

- Sabbath Rest
Daily Actions

- 8k steps
In future posts I hope to talk more about why I think that these actions matter. What are some of your goals for September?
