For #MapCritqueMonday I want us to look at this kid’s play mat. I got this to be a “squishy” map that I can stand on while I work at my standing desk.
But this map has so many issues:
🗺️Topology
🗺️Incorrect Geography
🗺️ Projection
I don’t have kids. But I’m wondering what are your thoughts. Is it better to have “cutsey” map products that introduce kids to the world via maps? Or should maps that we show our kids be more accurate? Or because all maps are going to be inaccurate does it not matter?
What’s the line that you draw? I’d love to know!
