Do you wear shoes in the house?
Last year my college roommate started talking to me about the Flyy Lady Method of cleaning. One of the things in this method is that you get fully dressed (including shoes) and go on to tackle your day– which of course involves some deep house cleaning.
I honestly had not given wearing shoes in the house a second thought. It just wasn’t something that I was raised with. We had carpets in our house and so shoes came off at the door! But I was intrigued by this method. I’ve tried doing the “put your shoes on” method and wow, it works. There’s just something about being fully dressed that helps me show up for my day. Previously, I thought that to be successful working at home I needed to have a bra on, coffee made, and a good attitude. The next thing to level it up for me is shoes.
My husband got a bit perturbed by the shoes in the house and so one of the things that we decided to do was have a pair of “house shoes” which are shoes that I wear in the house. Of course, I decided that my new Map Shoes would be those house shoes.
