At Tabulae Spatial one of our core values is a community and we’ve been trying to think about ways that we can encourage community during this time. One of the ways we are going to do that is through “Mappy Hours”. Our first Mappy Hour event will be Monday, August 31 at 3:30 pm (central). Register on zoom! This is a free event!
Networking and learning from other GIS and Geospatial Professionals is not only fun, but it is informative! Come meet other GIS Professionals in a laid back “Mappy Hour”. We will start with a brief talk by Juliana McMillan-Wilhoit and then head into break out rooms for networking. We will move between rooms to give you a chance to meet new people and we will have discussion prompts if you need something to help get the convos started!
Note: We have found that less than half of people who sign up for free events attend. We want to give the greatest opportunity for people to attend the event should they want to come. Our zoom room has a capacity of 100 people and we are giving away 140 tickets to the event with the assumption that not everyone will join.
I am interested in the event but that’s right in the middle of my work day. Any chance future Mappy Hours could either be held on weekends, or create a few in different regions timed to be after business hours? Thank you.
Hi Chris- Thanks for your interest! We are working on proving out the concept and our next event is a bit later in the day.
